Donald Ottinger

Donald Leo Ottinger, age 80, of Odessa, TX, passed away on May 3, 2016 in Odessa.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home.

Graveside Services will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.

Donald was born on December 30, 1935 to Leo and Lula Ottinger in Kerrville, TX. He went to school at Tivy High School in Kerrville and attended college at Sul Ross University in Alpine, TX. He served for the Odessa Fire Dept. for 25 years and retired as a Captain. Donald was a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas. He was an active member of the City of Odessa Retired Employees (C.O.R.E.). Also a member of the TMRA, Texas Motorcycle Road Riders Association.

Donald is preceded in death by his loving wife Wanda Ottinger; parents, Leo and Lula Ottinger of Kerrville, TX and his brother, Joe Ottinger of Kerrville, TX.

He is survived by his daughters, Dawn Tellez and husband, Tony, of Odessa, Glynis Gotcher and husband, Billy of Sweetwater, TX, Donice Powell of Sweetwater, TX; grandchildren, Donald Atkins, Joshua Tellez of Odessa, Monica Tellez and partner, Joey Simon of Lubbock, TX, Brena Gotcher, BreAnn Gotcher, Kendall Powell, Kenneth Britt Powell all of Sweetwater, TX; great grandchildren, Seth and Kylie of Lubbock, TX, Kaleb, Adalynn, Kaebryn, Kaeslyn and Harleigh of Sweetwater, TX.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Odessa Fire Department Honor Guard.
