Donald Wayne Stevens, 53, of Kailua-Kona, HI and formerly of Odessa died June 23, 2008, at Kona Community Hospital in Kealakekua, Hawaii. He was born in Hobbs, NM on January 6, 1955, to James Ira and Anna Vee Johnson Stevens. The family moved to Odessa in 1962 and Donald attended Permian High School. Married Teresa Horne in Odessa on August 14, 1976. He worked in the Permian Basin Oil Fields with Rod-Ric and Santa Fe Drilling as a tool pusher. Lived in Colorado, Arizona and moved to Hawaii in 2000 where he was a landscape designer. If not working he was always helping others. He was a member of the Midnight Riders in Kona, Hawaii. Mr. Stevens is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife Teresa of Kailua-Kona, HI; son, James Stevens and his wife Kasey, and granddaughter Laney of Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Amber Stevens of Seattle, WA., and Sabrina Costello and husband Ryan of Kailua-Kona, HI. Brothers John Stevens and Ron Stevens and his wife Karen., sisters Jan Peterson and Nan Cain all of Kailua-Kona, HI. Father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil L. Horne of Tampa, FL; brother-in-law, Jim Horne of Odessa. Thirteen nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 AM Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
