Donald Raymond Winkler, 71, of Odessa, Texas passed away from this earth and gained his angel wings on Monday, December 27, 2021, in Odessa, Texas.
Donald was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on January 25, 1950, to Betty and Jack Winkler; he spent parts of life in Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Texas, and much of his life in Odessa, Texas.
At the age of 18 he enlisted in the United States Army. After Basic Training, he was shipped to Vietnam, where he served 4 years. Donald married and was blessed with 8 children whom he cherished.
Donald became a Master Plumber in 1990. He had many customers who would wait days for him. Donald was an extremely caring father to his children and a fun loving “Grandpa” to his grandchildren. Donald was very passionate about bowling and in later years when he was no longer able to bowl, he became a coach for the youth league at Diamond Lanes.
He will be dearly missed and remembered by so many people whose lives he touched.
Donald is survived by his wife, Tammy Winkler; his brothers, David Winkler, and Terry Winkler (Leeann); sons, Jeff Winkler (Sylvia), Matt Winkler (Lori), Wesley Winkler (Amanda), and Christopher Winkler (Bailey); daughters, Jennifer Chapin (Tony), and Brittany Woodward (Zac); grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Samantha, Tanner, Bella, Andrew, Mary, Madison, Tank, Samuel, Amaya, Amber, Katelynn, Bayleigh, Colton, Bailey, Casey, Eric, and Darius; and great granddaughter, McKenzie.
Donald is preceded in death by his father, Jack Winkler; mother, Betty Payne; son, Donald Jr.; and daughter, Shauna Davis.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
