Donna Kemp

Donna Jan Kemp, 80, of Odessa, TX, went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2023.

Jan was born in Phillips, Texas, on September 22, 1942, to Kenneth and Lucy Ann Holmes. Jan is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Carl Kemp.  She is survived by her sons Mel Kemp and Joe Kemp; daughter Kimber Snider; brother Bill Holmes; grandchildren and great-grandchildren who knew her as Tema. She cherished her family and friends.

Jan graduated from Phillips High School in 1961. She attended West Texas State University for a short time then married her sweetheart, Carl Kemp, on January 20, 1962, at the Methodist church in Phillips, TX.

Jan worked in the Permian High School cafeteria and became the head meat cook after a few years. She then went to work for Cable One where she retired after 29 years. She was an avid fan of NASCAR (#3 and #8) and Mojo. Over the years she was active in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and teaching children’s church at the various churches she attended. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, crafting, country and western dancing with Carl, and going on cruises.

Her Celebration of Life Service will be held:
