Donna Parish, age 88, went to Heaven to be with Jesus on March 25, 2019 in Odessa, TX.
Donna was born November 9, 1930 to Sam and Dica Crump in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She spent her early childhood between Oklahoma and East Texas. She attended High School in Abilene, TX, and college at Texas State College for Women in Denton, TX. She met Joe Parish in 1948. They dated for two years and were married June 15, 1950. They moved to Midland, TX in 1951 and to Odessa in 1965, where they opened a Dry-Cleaning business which still operates today as Best Cleaners.
For 88 years Donna Parish truly lived every moment she was given. Married to the love of her life for almost 60 years, she raised their two children, Tamra and Kenneth and built several businesses from the ground up. She had the Dry Cleaners, Candlewick, She Shop, and the Galley Kitchen Shop, all of which she and her husband Joe put their whole heart into.
Donna quickly became a leader in the Odessa community pioneering numerous efforts such as Lioness Club and Lions Club which she and Joe were very active in. As a member of the Odessa Parks and Recreation Board, her biggest accomplishment was Progressive Park, a park for disabled children.
While everyone else knew her as smart, determined, strong, and in charge, we were blessed to know her as Mom, Nanny, and Aunt Donna. Our hearts are missing her so much already, but we are comforted knowing that she is free, happy, healthy, and face to face with her Savior walking the streets of gold with her dear Joe.
We all love her so much as Nanny and Mom. She touched each of our lives in a powerful way and it's an honor to be part of your incredible legacy.
Donna Parish is survived by her two children, Tamra Cook and her husband Kevin of Hot Springs, Arkansas, her son, Ken Parish and his wife, Terry of Denver, Colorado; 7 grandchildren, Michael Burks of Odessa, TX, Liz Barker of Midland, TX, Kelly parish of Denver, Colorado, Keri Parish of Denver, Colorado, Kory Parish of Denver, Colorado, Josh Cook of Springfield, Missouri, Jonathan Cook of Kansas City, Missouri and 8 great grandchildren.
