Donya DAnn Demel, 55, of Odessa, TX, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Christmas Eve morning with her family by her side.
Donya was born on April 11, 1959 in Lubbock, TX. She was raised in Levelland, TX and was a hairdresser there before moving to Odessa in 1996 where continued doing hair until she retired last year after 38 years. Donya was a member of Mid Cities Church in MidlandOdessa where she was active in several leadership and mentor ministries and she served on the board of directors at the Odessa Permian Playhouse. Donya was passionate about spending time with her husband and daughter, and the rest of her family. She cherished all her wonderful friends and soul sisters who have shown her so much love and support.
Donya is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Kevin Demel, their daughter, Danci Demel of Ft. Worth, her mother, Diana Crittenden of Lubbock, brother, Butch Crittenden and his wife Peggy of Lubbock, sister, Lyda Grawn and her partner Jeff of Scottsdale, Arizona, and her father in law, Harvey Demel and his wife LaDonna of Decatur, TX.
Donya is recently preceded in death by her father, Billy Crittenden as well as her mother in law, Jean Anders and her aunt Jean Crittenden.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 24 pm. A celebration of life will take place at Mid Cities Church in MidlandOdessa on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 10:00 am with a graveside service to follow at 3pm at Resthaven cemetery in Lubbock.
