Doris Cardwell

Doris Marie Cardwell passed away May 31, 2009 at Hospice of Midland Inpatient Unit at Memorial Hospital in Midland, Texas.

She was born February 2, 1932 in Hubbard, Texas to Myrtle and A. C. Killough. She married Milton Cardwell on a Cruise ship to the Caribbean in 1998. She met Milton at the American Legion where they loved to dance. She and Milton were avid golfers at Odessa Country Club. She also enjoyed, fishing, gardening and traveling in the RV to Ruidoso and Corpus Christi.

She was preceded in death by her previous husband Richard Milstead, sister Faye; brothers, Pat, Reese, Frank, Tex and Bill Killough.

Survivors include her husband, Milton Cardwell of Odessa, a son, Tim Shaver of Clark County, Nevada; a daughter, Vicki Waldrep and husband Jack of Midland; step-son, Clay Milstead and wife Annette of Newbern, North Carolina; step-daughter, Melinda Nickless of Austin; two sisters, Betty Stilter and husband Bill of Commerce, Texas and Fran Killough of Spokane, Washington; six grandchildren, Brandi, Courtni, , Marshall Clay, Roy, Brent, and Brandy; five great grandchildren, Dylan, Trevor, Cody, Averi and Natalie .

Visitation with family and friends will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, June 2, 2009 in Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
