They say that life is not about the number of breaths you take, but of the moments that take your breath away. Doris passed peacefully from this life on July 25, 2020. She was surrounded by her loving daughters during the last days of her life.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Alfred Vardeman officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Doris Ruth was born in Stamford, Texas on January 5, 1933 to Earl and Jewell Roddy. She went to school in Aspermont, Texas. She was married to Dewey Dane Lindly on December 11, 1955 in Aspermont, Texas. She lived most of her life in Odessa, Texas. She was a homemaker and an avid shopper. She was a member of Crescent Park Baptist Church.
Doris Lindly is survived by her 2 daughters: Dana and husband Terry Christian and daughter Lana and husband Alfred Vardeman. Three granddaughters Amber Freeman, April and husband JT Oglesby, and Summer and husband Ty Caffey. She also is survived by 6 great-grandchildren: Luke, Baylee, Rylee and Cade Freeman, Jaydyn and Haydyn Oglesby. One sister-n-law Mary Lou Lindly and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Jewell Roddy, and her loving husband of 62 years Dewey Lindly.
Memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Association.
