Doris Schiller

Doris Schiller, age 92, of Odessa, TX, passed away on January 31, 2016 in Odessa.

Funeral Services will be at 4:00 pm, Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.

Doris was born on April 26, 1923 to Gilbert and Mattie Morris in Temple, TX. She married Henry Schiller in 1948 and they had 63 wonderful years together until his passing in January of 2011. She was a loving mom, homemaker and later in life a Realtor and a Broker. She loved selling real estate and had a real passion for working with people. She was a Girl Scout leader and volunteered for over 20 years to the scouting program. From troop camp training to cookie sale chair person, everyone involved in Girl Scouts knew and loved Doris. Before she retired, she went to San Marcos Baptist Academy as a girl's dorm director. She loved the students and became a super substitute mom to many of the young girls. After Doris retired, she and Henry bought an R.V. and traveled to every state in the U.S. They joined an R.V. travel club and enjoyed many trips with fellow R.V.er's.

Doris has six grandchildren and loved them all very much. She was especially close to her two granddaughters, Macy and Carlee Marker. From the time they were born, they both adored spending time with Nana. They were her special angels and they brought her much happiness and joy.

Doris is preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Schiller, 3 sisters and 1 brother.

She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Reuter of Lancaster, Wisconsin and Johnna Marker of Odessa, TX; six grandchildren, Amber Hanrahan of Pardeville, Wisconsin, Wendy Barney of La Cresent, Minnesota, Wayne Reuter of New Port News, Virginia, Linda Matchey of Whitehall, Wisconsin, Macy Marker of Odessa, TX and Carlee Marker of Odessa, TX; eight great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
