Dorothy Lucas

Dorothy Ann Lucas, passed from this life on February 24, 2022, in Longview, TX at the age of 66.

Ann was born December 1, 1955, in Monroe, LA to Rosie and Carl Lucas. She married Kenneth “Dusty” Sewell in 1972. Together, they raised four daughters, one son, and cared for thirteen amazing grandchildren. She enjoyed going for walks, reading her bible, singing, humming hymnals, cooking, and speaking to family on the phone, she often phoned her children several times a day. She loved caring for her grandchildren and would not hear of them attending daycare if she were available. Ann was always so proud of her children and her grandchildren; she would often brag on all they had accomplished. She made sure her children and grandchildren knew she loved them all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rosie and Carl Lucas; husband, Kenneth “Dusty” Sewell; and her brother, Lester Lucas.

She is survived by her children, Jennifer and Brad Hawthorne, Jammie and Bryan Rhea, Dusty and Erika Sewell, Ocie Sewell, Chassity and Ben Baumstimler; her grandchildren, Bailey and Brandon Holmes, Bryan and McKaylan Rhea, Dallas, Brayden, Farrah, MaKenzie, Nathan, Jordon, Jaxon, Brennan, Hunter, Jacen, and C4; great-granddaughter, Anslee; along with another great grandbaby on the way; and siblings, Dwight and Viola Lucas, Chester and Becky Lucas, and Gene Lucas; along with numerous family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Rhea of Athens, TX, Bryan A. Rhea of Athens, TX, Dallas Reeves of White Oak, TX, Brayden Rhea of Athens, TX, Nathan Sewell of Odessa, TX and Jordon Sewell of Odessa, TX. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brad Hawthorne of White Oak, TX, Ben Baumstimler of Odessa, TX, Brennan Sewell of Odessa, TX and Jaxon Baumstimler of Odessa, TX.

Funeral Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home of Odessa, TX on March 4, 2022, at 10:00 AM.
