Dorothy Maldonado

Dorothy Samaniego Maldonado, 85, of Odessa, passed away February 24, 2017, in Odessa.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 6-8pm at Sunset Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 3, 2017 at 1pm at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Saul Primera of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Dorothy was born in San Antonio, Texas to Ernest and Guadalupe Samaniego on November 21, 1931. She attended and graduated from Beaumont High School. Dorothy married Lee Maldonado June the 26th, 1965. They were married for 51 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be missed dearly.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Guadalupe Samaniego, sisters Maria Wheeler, Lydia Carrillo, Isabel Diaz, Josie Hernandez, Andrea Saldua, and brother Ernest Samaniego.

She is survived by husband Lee Maldonado, son Roger Dale Rodgers and wife Deborah, daughter Denise VanCleave and husband Bob, grandchildren Noxie Romano IV and wife Angela, Preston Rodgers and wife Yuka, Chelsea Trower and husband Keith, Jordan Barcena and husband Ryan, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

Pallbearers will be Noxie Romano IV, Preston Rodgers, Keith Trower, Ryan Barcena, Brad VanCleave, and Larry Burdette.
