Dorothy Perkins

Dorothy Jo Cozens Perkins passed away Sunday September 28, 2008 in Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

She was born November 2, 1943 in Beaumont, Texas to Charlie Edward Burkett and Beatrice Lyndell Wooley Burkett. On September 15, 1961 she married David Cozens in Kermit, who preceded her in death in November 2002. She later married Glen Ray Perkins in Odessa in April 2006, he preceded her in death in 2007. She has lived in Odessa for the past 35 years, and was employed with Sams Club as a door greeter.

She is survived by her daughters, Pennie Wilkerson and husband Paul of Odessa and Stacie Ebersole and husband Mike of Clyde, Ohio; granddaughter, Ashley Wilkerson of Lubbock, Texas; grandson, Patrick Wilkerson of Odessa; granddaughter Sydney Ebersole of Clyde,Ohio; brothers, David Burkett of Azel, Texas, Bobby Burkett and wife Judy of Jal, New Mexico and Morris Burkett and wife Lana of Eunice, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Ima Jean Bandy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nieces Kami Scheller of Lake Worth, Texas, Nicole Burkett, of Austin, Tx. and nephews, Steven, Scott, Troy Burkett and Gary Cozens and wife Thelma of Yukon, Oklahoma; and lifelong friend Joyce Miller of Odessa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Lyndell Burkett, her nephew Kevin Burkett and her sister-in-law, Karen Burkett.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, September 30, 2008 in Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Pennie Wilkerson, Stacie Ebersole, David Burkett, Bobby Burkett, Morris Burket, Paul Wilkerson, Mike Ebersole, and Patrick Wilkerson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be donated to the West Texas Cancer Center, 301 North Washington, Odessa, Texas 79761.
