Dorothy Faye Skinner, 85, of Odessa, passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 18, 2015.
Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Friday, February 20, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life services will be 10am Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dewey Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Dorothy was born August 17, 1929 in Salina, KS to the late Frank Ernest and Pearl (Madden) Haase. Dorothy was raised in Salina, KS before moving to Odessa in the late 50's. She married Gerald Skinner on August 1, 1951. She was an avid swimmer and loved snorkeling. She won medals and had a story in the paper for her 1000 mile swim at the YMCA. She also loved to write poetry in her later years. Dorothy had her very first poem published. She also loved to travel and take cruises.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Clyde Robey, and sister Phyllis King.
She is survived by her two sons, Randall Skinner, Mark Skinner and wife Melody; one daughter, Cindy Carlson and husband Danny; sister, Glenda Warner; two grandsons, Jeramy Jones, Frank Skinner and wife Tamieka; three granddaughters, Mandi Skinner, Lacee Ridge and husband Robert and Chyna Carlson. Also left to cherish her memories are several great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and several extended family and many friends.
