Mr. Woolis passed away on Monday, March 16, 2009, at Odessa Medical Center with loved ones by his side.
Douglas Lynn Woolis was born on March 9, 1959, in Fort Riley Kansas to George Franklin Woolis and Emily Tena Henderson. He was raised in Midland and attended school in Midland and Odessa. On June 16, 1979, he married the love of his life, Judy Gibson, and together they made their home in Odessa.
Doug had worked for D R Engine Service and Supply as an Industrial Mechanic since August of 1979. He loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed tinkering with cars in his spare time. Doug was always loyal to his family, employer and friends. Those around him knew him as a generous, soft spoken, hard to anger kind of guy that always put the needs of others, before his own. We were truly blessed to have known and loved him, and though he may be gone from our midst, he will live on in our hearts forever.
He is survived by his wife Judy Woolis, of Odessa; two sons, Jason Woolis and Lucus Woolis, both of Odessa; his mother, Emily Tena Henderson and husband Otis, of Odessa; two sisters, Tena Elder and husband Michael of Panhandle Texas and Thersa Woolis and Mike Harrod of Midland; brother, William Chambers of Concord California; one grandson, Lane Austin Woolis of Odessa; Marshall R. Woolis of Midland and numerous other family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Woolis.
