Doyle Bownds

Doyle Bownds, age 80, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in Odessa.

He was born November 13, 1930 in Tahoka, Texas to Ira Doc Bownds and Mattie Bowers Bownds. Doyle lived in Odessa most of his life. He liked to play poker and dominoes and enjoyed watching bull rides and trips to Vegas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jimmy Dale Bownds in 1954, and a brother, Ira Bownds.

Survivors include his son, Gary Bownds of Gardendale, Texas daughter, Judy Norton and husband Eddie of Warner, Oklahoma brother, Eddie Bownds of Whitney, Texas sisterinlaw, Bessie Bownds of Odessa five grandchildren, Jeremy Norton, Leslie Bishop, Chris Norton, Michelle Norton and Dustin Bownds and eleven great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, August 26, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Gary Bishop, Dustin Bownds, Jeremy Norton, Chris Norton, Glen Norton and Ky Bishop.
