Earl Franklin Breeding, age 87, of Odessa, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 in Odessa, TX.
He was born November 29, 1925 in Ibex, Texas to Charles Breeding and Annie Cutbirth Breeding. He married Sondra Hester in 1952 and had one daughter, Mindy Breeding Wright. In 1963, Earl married Marleen Miller and had one daughter, Misty Breeding. He married Clara Parsons in 1973. Clara and Earl had a large, beautiful family with 5 children, who Earl raised as his own.
Earl is preceded in death by his wife, Clara Breeding, and his son, Rick Parsons.
Survivors include his children: Mindy Wright and her husband, Slimbo Wright of Gardendale, TX Misty Breeding of Riverton, Wyoming Jay Parsons and his wife, Rhonda Parsons of Pflugerville, TX Sterling Parsons and his wife, Donna Parsons of Odessa, TX Patti Breeding of Odessa, TX and Sherri Bredemeyer and her husband, Brady Bredemeyer of Odessa, TX He leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Earl was a retired truck driver.
He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and drove a landing craft, landing Marines on the beach in Iwo Jima. His ship, the Sandoval was hit by a Kamikaze pilot and returned to San Diego for repairs when Truman bombed Japan.
Earl was strong minded and always just did what had to be done, no complaints.
Visitation with the family will be 24 PM Sunday, August 25 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for 10:30 AM Monday at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
