Edith Sutton

Edith Mable Sutton, 92, of Odessa, passed away December 23, 2008 at her home. Edith was born November 20, 1916 in Buffalo, Texas to Richard and Leona Justice Parker.

Edith married John L. Sutton on May 25, 1935. They came to Odessa in 1963 from Amarillo. Edith was a devoted Christian and a member of Friendship Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. Edith also made many lap robes for Hospice, the VA and other local charities.

Edith is preceded in death by her husband John L. Sutton on November 22, 1993.

Edith is survived by her son, Richard Sutton and wife, Terri of Dayton, TX; daughters, Maves Archer and husband, Jim, Margie Handley and husband, Dwain, and Eva Moody and husband, James all of Odessa; brother, Lawrence Parker of Golden, CO; sisters, Laura Patrick of Moscow, ID and Lucille Welch of Centerville, TX; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great greatgrandchildren.

Services will be held at 3 pm on Friday, December 26, 2008 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
