Edna Grayson, 85 years old, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 .
Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, December 20th at Crescent Park Baptist Church, 3002 East University Boulevard in Odessa, Texas with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Friday, December 19th at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home located at 6801 East Hwy 80 also located in Odessa.
Edna was born December 22, 1922 in Bogota Texas to George and Callie Elson. Edna married Alvis Reed Grayson on September 30, 1947 in Rockwall, Texas. They were happily married for 61 years. Edna had two brothers and five sisters; all but one sister Edith Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Texas has preceded her in death.
Edna and Al moved to the OdessaMidland area in 1955. Edna loved to cook and bake for her family and friends and she especially enjoyed going to the lake and fishing. At one time in 1994 Edna held the Texas State Water Body record for the largest small mouth bass taken from the O.H. Ivie reservoir, located in central Texas. However, most precious to her was her relationship with her Lord Jesus Christ followed by her love for her husband Al as well as spending as much time as possible with her two children and three grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Al Grayson; sons, Rodney Grayson and his wife Dixie of Odessa; Lynn Grayson and his wife Mary of Cleburne, Texas as well as the grandchildren, Dylan of Odessa as well as Joshua and Ryleigh of Cleburne.
