Edward Northcutt

Edward Newburn Northcutt, age 84, of Odessa, TX, passed away on April 21, 2016 in Odessa, TX.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home in Odessa.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am, Monday, April 25, 2016 at Bethany Christian Church with Reverend Greg Morris of Bethany Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Edward was born July 5, 1931 to William Newburn Northcutt and Ordra Northcutt in Lawton, OK. He married Laura Claudine Northcutt on September 1, 1957 in Crowley, LA. He attended 2 years of college at Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater, OK. He worked as a down hole tool engineer for Halliburton for several years and worked for 30 plus years as an executive sales agent for Allstate Insurance.

Edward was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the United States Army. He was awarded the United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, 2 Bronze Stars, National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was active in the community and helped with many functions and activities at Bethany Christian Church. He was in the Jaycees of Odessa, Rotary Club, was a Mason and received numerous awards for top sales from Allstate Insurance.

Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Newburn and Ordra Northcutt and his wife, Claudy Northcutt.

He is survived by his sons, Mark and wife Rebecca Northcutt of Boerne, TX, Steve and wife Donna Northcutt of Southlake, TX; grandchildren, Nick Northcutt, Hunter Tarpley of Boerne, TX, Maddison Jones of Odessa, TX, Conner Northcutt and Natalie Northcutt of Southlake, TX.

The family of Mark and Steve Northcutt wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Rosie, Mary and Maria for caring for Ed the last several years, to Hospice who helped Ed in his last days and to Bethany Christian Church of Odessa, TX.
