Elmer Everett Foster, age 83, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012 in Odessa.
He was born December 3, 1928 in DeKalb, Bowie County, to Jahue and Ella Foster. He married Rosie Adelene Burnett on December 6, 1947 in Washington. He worked as a mechanic for Metering Testing for 38 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and he will be greatly missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jahue and Ella Foster all his brothers Charlie, Bill, and Earl Foster his daughter, Katherine Mary Foster and his granddaughter, Rachel Turney.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Rosie Adelene Foster of Odessa his daughters, Rosemary Thorp of Odessa, Christine Turney and husband Ronnie of Duncanville, Karen Purser and husband Don of Cypress his grandchildren, Matthew Thorp, Jason, Christopher and Heather Turney, Melissa Slate, Josh, Justin and Chessa Purser and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be 67:30 PM Friday, June 29, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Jimmy Braswell officiating.
