Elon Hinds

Elon Mozelle (Huffstutler) Hinds, age 94, passed away on April 13, 2015 at 5:25 am in Odessa, TX.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Westlawn Cemetery in Del Rio, TX with her grandson-in-law, Guy Langford officiating.

Mozelle was born in Laredo, TX to Joseph Prinkle Huffstutler and Addie Ferguson on May 12, 1920. She graduated from Abilene High School. She married Laurence Roberts on November 28, 1940 in Abilene. The newlyweds had a small business selling and delivering milk to local residents. Their daughter Sherry was born on September 10, 1945 in Abilene and while she was young they moved to Odessa to open Roberts Hardware which included selling many boats to the locals. Their son William (Bill) was born in Odessa on June 30, 1955. Mozelle continued to help run Robert's Hardware Store until the 1970's when Laurence died. She later moved with her son to Del Rio where she met Carrol Hinds. They married April 7, 1978 and they spent many happy years together as well. They traveled to all states in the US and most Canadian Provinces with travel trailer and fishing boat in tow, until his death November 1994. After enjoying many more happy years in Del Rio surrounded by lots of friends, she would return to Odessa in 2008.

Mozelle is preceded in death by both her husbands, Laurence Roberts and Carrol Hinds.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Leverett; son, Bill Roberts and wife Chelle; grandchildren, Jami Leverett Langford and her husband Guy, Jody Leverett, Addie Leverett Christensen and husband Jesse, Julia Roberts Perkins and husband Micah; great grandchildren, Sarah Kate Langford Dufford and husband Neil, Addie Ann Langford, Sydney Langford, Weston Langford, Ryder Leverett, Dylon Leverett, Aubree Christensen, Millee Jo Christensen, Emoree Christensen, Hank Christensen and Kolbi Pawelek.
