Elwanda Salone Davis, 93, of Midland, TX, passed away on March 29th, 2022, in Midland, TX after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
A Graveside Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 2nd at Lamesa Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Gwen Aldridge officiating. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa, TX.
Elwanda was born in Lamesa, Tx to Wisley and Salone Walls on July 10, 1928. She graduated from Lamesa High School, and then attended Texas Tech University for a few years. She married Thomas Leo Davis after he was honorably discharged from the Army on June 21st, 1947, in Lamesa, TX. She was a wife, homemaker, loving mother, sister, mother-in-law, and caring friend to all. She was employed as an LLD Aide for the Ector County School system for 11 years. She was a charter member and president of the WSCS of the Goldsmith United Methodist Church.
Elwanda is preceded in death by her parents, Wisley Walls and wife Elizabeth Salone Walls; her husband, Thomas Leo Davis; son, Jack Sivley Davis; sister, Joan Wheeler; daughter-in-law, Sheryl Alecia Davis; and grandchildren: Chad Alan Davis, and David Damon Davis.
She is survived by her son, Thomas A.B. (Tab) Davis and wife Pam of Carlsbad, NM; son, Mark Lynn Davis of Midland, TX; grandchildren: Stephen Jack Davis, Crystal Davis, Chelsey Davis and wife Alma of Midland, TX; great grandchildren: Lillie, Kody, and Aiden; as well as many other friends and loved ones, including special friends, Michael Diers, and Joseph Dennis.
