Enrique Platas, Sr.

Enrique Platas, Sr., 69, of Odessa, TX passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 in Odessa, TX, surrounded by family.

Visitation will be on Thursday December 27, 2018 from 12:00pm-8:00pm and a Rosary on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 7:00pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

A Mass will be held on Saturday December 28, 2018 at 9:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Chavez officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery.

Enrique was born in Hualahuises, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Francisco and Dolores Platas on April 10, 1949. He married Connie Esparza on May 28, 1977 in McCamey, TX. He worked as an operator and pusher in the oil field for 50 years.

Enrique is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, grandson, and great grandson.

Enrique is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Connie; son Henry Plata, Jr; daughters Amy Pena and her husband Ben, Michele Stubblefield and her husband Rusty, and Melissa Chavarria and her husband Philip; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Enrique Platas, Jr. III, Ramiro Platas, Isaac Platas, Ricky Marquez, Jose Carrillo, and Henry Platas, Jr.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
