Gaston was an avid hunter and fisherman. During his children's earlier days they had a place at the lake in Sweetwater where the family made many great memories they will never forget. He taught them how to fish, ski and even taught them how to drive the boat. Later they bought a motor home so they could make new memories out on the open road. After the children had grown, Gaston and Erion traveled to the southern islands, Hawaii many times and even to England and Scotland. With Odessa being their main home they decided to buy a vacation home in Granbury by the lake.
Gaston also was a 32nd degree Mason and an Odessa Shriner. A group of Shrines got together and rode their Shriner Motorcycles in the parades throughout West Texas. In El Paso, TX in 1983 the Shriner Motorcycle won 1st place.
All who knew Gaston knew he was a very honest man and his words were few but thoughtful and worth listening to. He did have a unique sense of humor and you never got the last straw, so to speak. He was a very dedicated, hardworking man, devoted to support his wife and children. He was a man that only had one way to do anything and that was the right way. Gaston served on the board at the City of Odessa Employees Credit Union and was President for many years.
