Ettie Dye

Ettie Louise Dye, “Louise”, age 81, of Odessa, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020 in Odessa, TX.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Monday March 2 at Sunset Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Doyle of West University Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are made by Sunset Funeral Home.

Louise was born in Bowlegs, OK to Jess and Ettie Bray on November 6, 1938. She married Vernon Dye on September 26, 1953 in Ada, OK. Louise was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to cook, and shop, and have family get-togethers at her home. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting and other crafty activities. She was a member of the West University Church of Christ for more than 20 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 6 sisters, 2 brothers, and her daughter, Kelley Shaw.

Louise is survived by her husband of 66 years, Vernon Dye; her children, Vicky Landers (Deer Park, TX), Sharon Macon and husband John Macon (Midland, TX), Janette Hill and husband Bobby Hill (Odessa, TX), Vernon Dye and wife Susan Dye (Choctaw, OK), Greg Dye (Odessa, TX); her sister, Sue Robinson (Midwest City, OK); 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
