Eva Beatrice Harrington was called home early on the morning of Wednesday, February 9, 2011 Bea was 77. Along with her late husband, Lonnie, Odessa is where they called home for 46 years.
Aunt Bea as many knew her by, was born on November 1, 1933 in Augusta, Texas to Charlie and Legora White. Bea was the second oldest of nine children.
Bea is preceded in death by her father, Charlie White and her siblings, Ruthie Marie White, James Lewis White, Stella Marie Griffin, Charles Edward White, Roman Lee White, Norma Jean Sheppard, Betty Moore and Preston White.
Bea and Lonnie Married on May 21, 1955 in Crockett, Texas of Houston County. They made Crockett home until 1964. To this holy union, they were blessed with five children.
Like her husband, Bea worked hard to provide for her family. She was employed as a Stock Room Manager at JC Penny for twentytwo years. She also worked for the Kirkland family. Bea was a member of King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church and St. Matthews Baptist Church.
Beas loving spirit will live on in her mother, Legora White of Crockett daughters, Joretha Harrington Lee of Odessa, Linnie Jean Parker and husband Danny of Killeen, Patricia Ann Gipson and husband Ronnie of Summerton, SC and Debbie Sue Harrington Floyd of Midland. Bea had one son, Dewayne Burnett Harrington and wife Debra of Whitney. She also had a host of grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins that will also carry on Beas spirit.
Visitation with the family will be 68 Pm Friday, February 11, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Anthony C. Slack officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens
