Eva Lou Walters, 85 of Odessa died Monday evening at Crane Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Walters was born August 26, 1922 in Perryton, Texas to John and Lois Henderson. She was reared and educated in Echo, Texas. She married Buren Elkins they lived in Odessa prior to moving to Thacther, AZ. They returned to Odessa in 1982, Mr. Elkins died in Odessa May 20, 1986. She later met and married Max Walters in Odessa on August 12, 1988. Eva worked in retail sales at Sears and K-Mart prior to her retirement. In retirement she volunteered as a Pink Lady at Medical Center Hospital. Mrs. Walters was a member of Crescent Park Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bob Henderson of Del Rio, Texas and sister Reba Teague who lived in Odessa, and a granddaughter Jamie Franklin.
Survivors include her husband Max Walters of Odessa. Her children son, Jimmy W. Elkins of Stafford, AZ., and daughter Glenda Koscielniak of Palm Harbor, FL. 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Her step children; Terry Walters of Arlington, TX., Maxey Walters and his wife Mary of Houston, TX., Robbie Walters of Odessa, Janet Franklin of El Paso, TX, and Ludene Reeves and her husband Dwain of Fort Stockton, TX. 15 step grandchildren, and 23 step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, January 11, 2008 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
