Evangeline Garcia

Evangeline S. Garcia, age 81, of Midland, TX passed away on January 22, 2017 in Midland, TX.

Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Pecos, TX. Burial will follow at Balmorhea Cemetery.

Evangeline was born May 15, 1935 to Marcos Subia and Maria Subia in Balmorhea, TX. She was married to Ernesto Garcia, Sr. for over 60 years. She worked for 10 years as a school bus driver for Pecos, Barstow and Toyah Independent School District. She was given an award for Bus Rodeo Tournaments. Evangeline enjoyed reading, playing dominos and spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Evangeline is preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto Garcia, Sr., her daughter Lilly Garcia, her parents, Marcos and Maria Subia, brother, Frank Subia, her sister, Lydia Rodriguez and brother, Eloy Subia.

She is survived by her children, Irma Chabarria of Midland, TX, Sally Roman and husband Archie Roman of Odessa, TX, Ernest Garcia, Jr of Pecos, TX, Danny Garcia and his wife Ofelia Garcia of Odessa, TX, Irene Tarin and her husband Jesus Tarin of Midland, TX, Marshella Garcia of Odessa, TX, Israel Garcia and his wife Gloria Garcia of Odessa, TX,; 20 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; brother, Isacc Subia of Odessa, TX.
