Evelyn Pinner Cherry
May 26, 1928 July 16, 2012

Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Evelyn came into this world as the youngest of five children. She grew up in Odessa, Texas and shared 57 years of total love and devotion with Billy Cherry, who preceded her in death. She wrote in her Bible: Dear Billy, Meet me at the river that flows by the Throne of God. She now has reached heaven for this joyful reunion and shares eternity with Jesus Christ, as she always desired. In Gods perfect timing, she was reunited with Billy on his birthday, and they most certainly celebrated together in paradise after many years apart.

Evelyns life was centered on her faith in God and her love for family. She was a treasured member of the First Assembly of God Church in Marble Falls, Texas, where she played the piano. She read the entire Bible through 40 times in her life and especially enjoyed singing songs of praise to the Lord.
After working many years at the Ector County Court House for the county tax assessor in Odessa, Texas, she and Billy retired to the Hill Country and lived in Burnet, Texas. Throughout her life, everyone who knew Evelyn was touched by her incredible kindness, tender heart, and her compassion for those around her.

Evelyn is survived by her sister, Wilma P. Jones, her niece, Trudy J. Driskell, both of Houston, TX, and her nephews, Gary E. Jones of Houston and Jarrell Pinner of Buda, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C. E. and Gertrude Pinner of Odessa, Texas, three brothers, Cleamon Pinner, Virgil Pinner and J. D. Pinner, and husband Billy A. Cherry.

A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Garden on Thursday, July 19, at 10:00 A.M., when Evelyn will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
Evelyns family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the compassion and commitment to caring shown to her by the staff and caregivers Colonial Oaks of Pasadena, the Cottages of Friendswood, and Grace Hospice of Texas.
