Everett "Pat" Pounds

Everett Patrick “Pat” Pounds, age 79, passed away on December 17, 2021.

Pat was born on March 17, 1942, in Houston, Texas to parents Everett and Marcell Pounds (decease).  Pat is also preceded in death by his beloved stepfather, Dug Sutton.

Pat is survived by his beloved wife, Patsy Boner Pounds of the home; they were married 35 years.  They shared four daughters and three sons: Rhonda Milburn (Michael), Debbie Hyak (Don), Sherri Shockley, Michelle Brookshire (Steven), Craig Pounds, Austin Pounds (Jewly), Maurice Mounce; followed by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  He is also survived by two loving sisters, Nancy Pounds Carpenter (Rex) of Fort Stockton, and Paula Pounds Vickery (Tony) of Odessa.

Pat graduated from Odessa High School in 1961.  He was active in FFA and made life-long friends.  Pat spent most of his adult life in Odessa working most of that in oilfield related jobs, retiring from Key Energy.

In 1984, Pat accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, and was baptized.

Pat loved hunting and fishing, sports and being with family.  He excelled in every one of them.  Probably his most treasured memories were the many years spent at the family ranch in Bandera, and hunting on the family deer lease in Kerrville.  Our family had several years of summer vacations in Creede, Colorado, those memories he still talked about quite often.

He was a wonderful husband, dad, Poppa, son, brother, uncle, and friend.  Pat was such a joker and storyteller, and loved making folks laugh, and you just better be ready to be hugged on if you were around him.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
