Evonne Martinez

Evonne Garza Martinez, age 56, of Midland, passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 at her residence in Midland, Texas.

A rosary will be read at Sunset Memorial Chapel at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. A mass will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Evonne was born in Odessa, Texas to Frank and Rufina Martinez on June 20, 1958. She attended Permian High School. Evonne never married and prided herself as a homemaker.

Evonne is preceded in death by both her parents, Frank P. Martinez and Rufina G. Martinez as well as two brothers, Rudy Cervantes and Lupe Martinez.

Evonne is survived by brothers: Richard and Gloria Sparks of Odessa, Frank Larry Martinez of Midland, Sammy and Elizabeth Martinez of Odessa, Frankie and Ester Martinez of Snyder, Carlos and Ofelia Martinez also of Snyder sisters: Joanna and Jones Burk, Linda and Leroy Chavez, Lydia and Jimmy Smart, Virginia Holmes, Lorrie Ann and Joe Whitley, Diane and Dale Esquibel, Sueann Martinez all of Odessa, Melissa and Carlos Armendariz, and Heather and Uriel Villa of Midland, as well as Rene Gutierrez, her best friend.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Mapes, Scott Scroggins, Joe Whitley, Jr., Gary Smart, Frank Burk and Aaron Burk.
