Fay King Grove, age 96, a longtime resident of Imperial, died February 13, 2019 in Lewisville. She is the wife of former Pecos County Commissioner, Truman Grove.
Fay was born April 25, 1922 in Valera, Texas to Grover and Nora King. She attended school in Paint Rock. Fay moved to Imperial in 1940 and graduated from Buena Vista High School. She married Truman on November 27, 1940 in Pecos, TX, and began a life together that would last nearly 50 years until his death in 1990.
Fay was a member of First Baptist Church, Imperial. She delighted in her role as homemaker, and her sewing, needlework and cake decorating delighted all who knew her.
Fay is preceded in death by her loving husband, Truman; son, Gerald Grove; parents, Grover and Nora King; sisters, Mary Ritchie Huddleston, Louvenia Rambo, Bonnie Maxie, Sybil Murray, Edna King, Nell King; brothers, R.D. King and Earl King.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Tipton and husband, Ron; sisters, Ann Johnson and Sue North; granddaughter, Julie Tipton; grandsons, Terrell Tipton and wife, Sarah, Kevin Grove and wife, Ellyn, Randall Grove and wife, Mia; 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 2:00 PM, at East Hill Cemetery in Ft. Stockton with arrangements entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Odessa.
