Faye Higgs

Odessa 1923 2011 Faye Higgs, 88, went to be the Lord on August 9, 2011. She was born on May 22, 1923 to Jessie and Melinda Robertson as the thirteenth child. She married Earl E. Higgs on August 22, 1940 who later served in WWII and they had shared 54 years together before he died on September 3, 1994. They had 4 children, Earl Jr., Ina Earlene, Rosalita Vessels, and Glenna Faye Anderson. They moved to Odessa in 1956.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 13 brothers and sisters, husband, son, and baby daughter, and one granddaughter.

In the early 1960s she became a beautician with her own shop, then she was a devoted mother and grandmother who could fix any problem. She belonged to Circle J Cowboy Church previously Friendship Baptist where she made quilts for the VFW. Up until a month before her death she made lap robes for her dear friend, Emmett Barnard of Home Hospice.

She loved her family and is survived by 2 daughters, 9 grandchildren, 19 greatgrandchildren, 6 greatgreat grandchildren with 3 more on the way.

Glennas family: 2 sons, 1 daughter
Red Laurie children John Leslie son Cameron Clarissa Cheyanne Christopher.
Wesley Tammy son Colten
Valerie Gene Grant sons Jeffery Colleen son Wyatt Michael Tiffany Brayden.

Funeral service will be held Friday, August 12, 10:30 a.m. at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, with Emmet Barnard officiating. Pallbearers will be her great grandsons Ronnie Vaughn, Brayden Grant, John Wesley Anderson, Christopher Anderson, Colten Earl Anderson, Jeff Grant, Michael Grant, Randel Vaughn, and Donnie Vaughn.

The family would like any memorials to be made to Home Hospice.
