Fern Eudy Wooten, age 95, passed away early Friday morning, February 23, 2018, after a brief illness.
Fern was born Esta Fern Reynolds on May 14, 1922 to Estelle Sanders and Sidney Fleet Reynolds in Throckmorton, Texas. Fern married Michael Doyle Eudy, of Odessa in 1940 and they had four sons. Mike and Fern were married an impressive sixty-two years until Mike's death in 2002. In 2006 Fern married neighbor and friend, Marvin Wooten, who served under Mike in the police force here in Odessa.
Fern retired from Texas Electric Service Co. after many years of service. She loved dancing and danced with the Dancing Grannies, while also staying active in exercise classes and her church. She was a proud member of the Eastern Star, and enjoyed spending time at the Northside Center with the Senior Center Group.
Fern is preceded in death by Mike Eudy (1918-2002), one of her sons, Jonathan (Stanley) Eudy of Little Rock, Arkansas (1948-2015), and a grandson, Michael Lee Eudy (1961-1973).
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of eleven years, Marvin Wooten of Odessa and her three sons, Chuck and his wife, Karen of Odessa; Ed and his wife Jane, of Arden, North Carolina; and Sidney and his wife, Elizabeth, Of Lincolnville, Maine. She is also survived by four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 pm, Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 4:00 pm, Monday, February 26, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Shawn Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorials in her honor may be made to the 6th and Jackson Church of Christ of Odessa.
