Floyd Carrell

Floyd Bennett Carrell, age 82, of Odessa, TX, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013, in Odessa.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6th at Sunset Memorial with Reverend Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Floyd was born in ODonnel, Texas to Jess E. and Mary Carrell on April 4, 1930. He married the love of his life, Twala Dawn Baucom on January 17, 1954 in Hobbs, NM. Together they enjoyed 59 years of marriage. He was the founder and CEO of Western Controls Co., Inc. for over 43 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Air Force. He received the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.

Floyd is preceded in death by his daughter, Jana his sisters, Ruth, Imogene and Marie and his parents, Jesse and Mary.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Dawn his children, Leslie and husband Jimmy Boggs and Steve Carrell his brother Lloyd Carrell and wife Donna his sisters: Gerri and husband Jim Russell, Melva Knox, Yvonne Carrell, Juanita Carrell and Tina and husband, Gayle McLeod his grandchildren: Jason Boggs and wife Dusti Ashley and husband Jefferson Cox his stepgrandchild, Michele and husband Brandon Barrow and his great grandchildren: Faith and Haden Barrow and Noah and Charlotte Cox.

Memorials may be given to the Hospice House Foundation, 903 N Sam Houston, Odessa, TX and to Texas PTA, 7600 Chevy Chase Dr, Bldg 2, Suite 300, Austin, TX 78752.

The family of Floyd Carrell wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hospice House, his nurses, Moreya, Nancy, Debbie, and all of the Hospice personnel and to our family and friends who made this journey a special one.
