Forrest Goin

Forrest Wayne Goin, age 87, of Odessa, TX passed away on September 7, 2014 at Medical Center Hospital.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 68 PM at Sunset Funeral Home.

Memorial Services will be at The First Baptist Church, 709 N. Lee, Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 1 PM.

Forrest was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to William Charles and Viola Florence Goza Goin on May 22, 1927. He was raised in Okmulgee, Ok. and Baird, TX. He graduated from Baird High School in 1944. He served in the United States Army from November 28, 1945 to May 18, 1947. He met and married the love of his life, Dorothy Zubicek on February 26, 1966 at The First Baptist Church in Midland, TX. He retired from Certainteed Corp., a division of Saint Gobain Corp. He also was a member of The First Baptist Church in Odessa.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Viola Goin, sisters, Ezma Walker and Marybelle Lovelady, brothers, Clovis Goin and Charles Elwood Goin.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Goin of Odessa, sisters, Doris Corn of Mt. Sylvan, TX and Willadene Grove and husband Don of Houston, TX, brother, David Mack and wife Glenda Goin of Graham, TX.

One of his greatest joys was to be able to help family, friends and his church.

The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Kendall Wong, Dr Joseph Abijay and Home Hospice.
