Frances Gunn

Frances Ann Gunn passed away with dignity, grace, and in peace on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at the age of 99 in Odessa, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 18, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.

Frances was born in Wichita Falls, Texas to Jesse Hulen Dulaney and Lola Fredrick Hutchinson on September 28, 1923. She met the love of her life, Willis Bernard Gunn, while attending Texas Tech University after he returned from WWII. They married on December 27,1947 in Lubbock, Texas. She graduated from Sul Ross University and taught special education in the Ector County School district for many years until retiring. In her later years Frances was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Frances is preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Willis Gunn; sister, Shirley Lowery; and daughter, Susan Gunn Jernigan.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Gunn and daughter-in-law Tamara; daughter, Diana Gunn Branson; and grandson, Benjamin Branson; son-in-law, Ray Jernigan; and grandsons, Case Jernigan and Sam Jernigan. She has three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Emma, and Olivia Jernigan.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer society. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Darrell S Parsons and Home Hospice for their care of Frances.
