Frances Mendoza

Frances Brito Mendoza 77, of Odessa, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, while a patient at Regency Hospital in Odessa, Texas.

She was born May 25, 1935 in the ancient community of Loma Pelona near Presidio, Texas. She was raised in Pecos, Texas and married Arturo Briones Mendoza. They moved to Odessa, Texas in 1960. She was a devout Christian, a wonderful wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She was widely known by many people for her beautiful smile, wonderful personality and kindness. Before retiring, she worked for Safeway for over 23 years.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but we know we will one day see her again.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Linda Carrasco of Odessa, Grace Butler of Odessa, and Norma Jean and husband Tony Rodriguez of Odessa Sons, Arturo B. Mendoza Jr. of Odessa and Israel Mendoza de Levario of Austin, Texas, also 13 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grand children.


Visitation with the family will be 69 PM Friday, with the Rosary at 7:00 PM, August 24, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 25, 2012 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Mark Woodruff officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
