Frederick Freddy Warren Torres, age 45, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010 in Odessa.
He was born March 14, 1965 in Monahans, Texas. The difficult journey he traveled the remaining 43 years of his life is a testament to the strength of this quiet, gentle, but passionate man, who never told a lie.
He grew up, was educated, and spent his entire life in Odessa, Texas. His travels were few, but his imagination took him on adventures we cannot describe, and few would dare to venture.
His antics were well known to friends and family, and on any given day, you best brace yourself for the biggest breathtaking bear hug of your life. This said, I love you.
An avid football fan, you could count on him for any statistical information. Good thing he wasnt a gambling man Why, even a local radio station would call him up for his projected winners, and why he chose them.
Although his illness hindered him, it did not limit him from pursuing life to the fullest.
Survivors include his mother, Lazara Torres Walker of Odessa brothers, Ernest Martinez and wife Lydia of Edinburg, Texas, and Steven Duvall and wife Mona of Haltom City, Texas his sisters, Rachel Williams of Stanton, Texas and Michelle Parcher and husband James of Ventura, California and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and had a special place in their hearts for this unique individual.
Obviously, innocence easily recognizes a gentle, compassionate spirit. He will be sorely missed and thought of often. But, we are ever so grateful he crossed our paths. Freddy was special.
