Frelan Fields

Frelan D. Fields, age 79, of Odessa, passed away on March 10, 2015 in Odessa.

Visitation will be 10:00 am - 8:00 pm, Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home.

Graveside Services will be at 10:00 am Friday, March 13, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with David Jacob officiating.

Family and Friends visitation will be at Frelan's home, 4320 Esmond Dr., Odessa,TX, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, March 12, 2015.

Frelan was born on April 26, 1935 to Carnie and Daphne Barnett Fields in Purcell, OK. He came to Odessa, TX in 1949 and attended Odessa High School. Frelan joined the Marines in 1952 and served 4 years. He married Ruth Ellen Thomas on March 17, 1954 in Carlsbad, NM. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Freemasonry. 32nd degree Mason, Shriner and a member of the Scottish Rite. Frelan was self employed in the service station business from 1968 to 1979 as Fields Services Inc. From 1979 until his retirement in 2009 he owned CPS Pipe and Supply Inc., Permian West Corp and Fields Consulting. Everything in Frelan's life was secondary to his work. Regardless of the occasion or holiday, business always took precedence. His family reaped great rewards from his work ethics. After his retirement in 2009, his final years were spent playing golf 3 times a week and fulfilling the role of father and grandfather to his great grandson, Jacob.

Frelan is preceded in death by his parents, Carnie and Daphne Fields and his beloved grandson, Jason Fields.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Fields; 2 sons, Jay Fields of Odessa, TX, Joey Fields and wife Lisa of Midland, TX; daughter, Gina Fields Parker and husband David of Odessa, TX; sister, Barbara Adamson of Paris, TX; brothers, Wiley Hulsey and Kent Hulsey of Hebes Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren, Cory Fields, Cody (Buck) Fields, Alaina Fields Watters, Haley Fields Hunt, Josh Fields, Jaxon Fields, Kandace Parker, Brandon Parker, Brice Parker, Brayden Parker and eleven great grandchildren.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 841125, Dallas, TX 75284.
