Frieda Mae Theesfield, 99, died peacefully on Sunday, September 26, 2021.
Frieda was preceded in death by her husband Edmund (Ed) Theesfield, son Gary Theesfield, and grandson Ryan Theesfield. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Beverley Wilkerson, Steve Theesfield, and Roddy Theesfield and his wife Debra as well as her 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Frieda was born on November 14, 1921, in Paxton, IL to George and Ethel Asay. She grew up in Thawville, IL where she started teaching in a one-room school in 1940, later focusing on teaching 4th grade.
Frieda married Ed on August 7, 1942. They moved to Odessa, TX in 1959. After raising their three children, Frieda and Ed became members of the Trailer Town Travelers, spending many years RVing to different locations. Frieda enjoyed crafting, crocheting, playing card games, and attending plays at Permian Playhouse. Above all, Frieda enjoyed visiting family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She listened to mystery and crime thriller audio books daily and had a sweet tooth, especially for donut holes, that her family indulged.
A viewing will be held on the evening of Friday, October 1 from 6-8pm, followed by a funeral service and burial on Saturday, October 2 starting at 3pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Odessa, TX.
