Gay Joyner

Gay Dawn Joyner, 69 of Odessa passed from this life on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born in Vaughn, New Mexico on June 25, 1939 to Thomas and Dorothy Edsall Celey.

She was a resident of Odessa for most of her life. She retired from Texas Instruments and later retired from the eastside Odessa Wal-Mart in 2005. After her retirement she loved being with her family, enjoyed watching cooking shows and her monthly luncheons with the Andrews Beauty Queens. She enjoyed her renewed friendship with the ladies and looked forward to their meetings.

Those left behind to cherish her love and memories are her daughters; Stephanie McGee of Odessa, Leslie Kreutzer of Odessa, Kim McPherson and husband Shane of Eula, Tracie Joyner and husband Michael of Odessa. Her cherished sisters; Sharon Campbell of Bells, Saundra Ramstad and husband Bob of Sherman, Tanya Bacon of London, Tx, Delisse Carroll of Midland. Her grandchildren; Shannon Brewer and husband David of Whitesboro, Shawn Setser of Odessa, Amber and Zachary McPherson of Eula, Michaela Adcox of Odessa, Derek Kreutzer, Jerry Blake Kreutzer, Eric Kreutzer and Elissa Kreutzer of Odessa. Great-Grandchildren; Trevor Raney of San Angelo, Tyler and Madison Brewer of Whitesboro. Her nieces and nephews; Philip Campbell and wife Sandy, Greg Bacon and wife Aneesa, Craig Tito Bacon, Michael Touchstone and wife Sheri, Stacie Latimer and husband Tom, Brooke Jamison and husband Troy, Michelle Chitty and husband Rex, Jody Shook and wife Dee, Connie Huffman and husband Rodney, Kerry Nelms and wife Alva and Cindy Blakley and husband Joe. And many great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends that she loved and cherished.

She is preceded by her father, Thomas Celey; mother Dorothy McMurry and step-father, V. B. McMurry, two son-in-laws J.R. Setser and Jerry Kreutzer and grandson Nathan Kreutzer

Pallbearers will be Michael Adcox, Shane McPherson, Rex Chitty, Michael Touchstone, Philip Campbell, Jody Shook, Greg Bacon, and Tito Bacon. Honorary Pallbearers will be Shawn Setser, Zachary McPherson, Buddy Campbell, Kolton Bacon, Ryan Andrews, Cory Chitty, Cody Chitty, and Rick Struck.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Newton officiating. Burial will be at 4:00 PM Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Belvedere Cemetery in San Angelo, Texas. Visitation will be 5:00 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Hospice House, 903 N. Sam Houston, Odessa, Texas, 79761.
