Gayle Berlin

October 11, 1946 — December 2, 2017

Gayle Berlin passed from our world Saturday morning, December 2, 2017, after a very short but hard fight with lung cancer.

Gayle was born, Anita Gayle Mangold on October 11, 1946 in Corsicana, Navarro Co., Texas, the only child of Otho Curtis and Lillie Anita Owens Mangold.

She met and married Reed Berlin, the love of her life, best friend and soul mate on June 7, 1985 and for almost 33 years they were inseparable. He opened the car door for her, every single time, and you never saw one without the other, always holding hands.
She said. "I am indeed lucky to have found a man that is willing and able to be and have an equal partner in business, home and life."

She is survived by her husband Reed Berlin, daughter, Linda Lawson and husband Doyle, Angela Hill and husband Shawn, James "J.D." Thompson wife Peti, and Bob Berlin; 8 grand-daughters, 4 grandsons, 5 great-granddaughters, and 2 great-grandsons.

Tuesday December 5, 2017 will be family visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.

She was the matriarch, the glue, strength and love that held this crazy, fun, silly and strong tribe together. She never met a stranger that she didn't invite into her home with open arms. One of her greatest assets is that she made us all more than we could be.
Heaven is lucky to have her.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. To sign the guestbook, visit www.sunsetodessa.com.
