Georgia Landers

Georgia Marie Landers, age 84, of Kermit, TX, passed away at home on September 28, 2014 at 10:27 pm. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be from 68 PM on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 2 PM at First Church of Nazarene in Odessa with Reverend Terry Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Marie was born in Darco, TX on March 31, 1930 to George and Bernice Hickman. She attended Marshall High School. She married Robert Eugene Landers on August 28, 1952. Marie was a longtime resident of Monahans, TX. She was a homemaker and worked in retail at different times in her life. She enjoyed playing golf and she and her late husband shared a love for fishing at Lake Amistad. She was a long time member of First Church of Nazarene in Odessa, TX. Marie was loved by many people and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Grannie as she was called by her family was a kind and loving woman, who loved God and her family.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Robert Eugene Landers, her parents, George and Bernice Hickman, brother, Bobby Hickman and a sister Gloria Cook.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sherry Morgan and husband Darrell of New Braunfels, TX, their children, Edward Morgan of Houston, TX, Jennifer Morgan and Scott Morgan and wife Lindsay and their son, River all of New Braunfels, her daughter, Karen Ward and great grandson Mason Derrick of Midland, TX. Her children also include April Byard and husband Eric, their children, Cory and Ethan Byard all of Farmersville, TX, Ashley Guess and husband Paul with their children, Logan, Madison and Tyler all of Beebe, Arkansas, youngest daughter, Sheila Michel and her husband Duff with their children, Jantzen and Allison all of Kermit, TX, sister, Juanita Estes of Hearne, TX, brother, Troy Hickman and wife Shirley of Trinity TX, sister Patricia Keelin and husband Glen of Steamboat Springs, Colorado and sister Carolyn Clark and her husband Gene of Marshall, TX. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Pallbearers are as follows Duff Michel, Darrell Morgan, Edward Morgan, Scott Morgan, Eric Byard, and Jantzen Michel.
Honorary Pallbearers are as follows Michael Estes, Nick Cook, Ethan Byard and Mason Derrick.
The family would like memorial contributions to be made to Home Hospice and Odessa First Church of Nazarene in Odessa. They also would like to sincerely offer special thanks to her caregiver, Dora Diaz and the Hospice members, Chris, Marrisa, Sheila and Dolly who went above and beyond. Much love to all.
