Gerald Jerry A. Wallace, 66, devoted son, husband, father and friend, passed away very unexpectedly on April 25, 2009.
He was born on May 6, 1942 in Mexia, Texas. Jerry was a member of the first class to graduate from Permian High School in Odessa, Texas. He attended Odessa College off and on for a number of years. He was a veteran of the Army 1962-1964. Having volunteered for the draft, he received Green Beret training but decided not to re-enlist when his two years voluntary duty was up. He was den leader of Cub Scouts and Webelos. He was President of the PTA at Dowling for two years. He was a volunteer with the Humane Society for several years and served a brief term as President. He was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, an avid 2nd amendment rights man. Guns, motorcycles, golf, and meteorite collecting were his hobbies. He was retired from a variety of business pursuits including, real estate in the 60s, sign design, manufacturing and maintenance most of his life, electrician, computer maintenance and repair and a general handy to have around guy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lee A. Wallace. He is survived by his mother, Olga L. Wallace, his wife, Kathy L. Wallace; son, Anthony Tony L. Wallace and wife Catherine; daughter, Marissa L. Smith and husband Tom; and numerous other relatives and friends. He will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Graveside services are scheduled for 4:00 PM Wednesday, April 29, 2009 in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jimmy Braswell officiating.
