Gina R. Gist

Gina Gist, a resident of Odessa, TX, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Medical Center Hospital. Gina was born on August 20, 1963, in Laguna Beach, CA to Sally Wright Gist and John Lee Gist. She was 61 years old.

Gina graduated from Permian High School in 198. She attended West Texas State University in Canyon, TX, graduating with a degree in Music. An equestrian, she appeared in several seasons in the production of “Texas,” an outdoor musical at Palo Duro Canyon during her college years. She is a former music teacher at ECISD in Odessa, TX.

Gina was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Nathaniel Davis Chapter. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Odessa, TX.

Gina was preceded in death by her parents John L. Gist and Sally Gist; brother, John Eric Gist and sister, Joni Gist.

She is survived by her half-sister Miranda Gist; aunt, Alice Bradberry; uncle, Marcus S. Gist and wife Cheryl; aunt, Jean Gist; niece, Lauren Elliott as well as several generations of cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
