Giovanni Castelazo

Giovanni Castelazo, age 60, of Odessa Texas, passed away May 1, 2014 in Glasscock County, Texas.

Visitation will be from 4:00 8:00 pm on Sunday, the 4th of May of 2014 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, the 5th of May 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Giovanni was born in Mexico City, Mexico D.F. to Roberto and Emma Castelazo on September 22, 1953. He went to school in Mexicos Instituto Politecnico Nacional. He married Melina on November 21, 1981 in Juarez, Mexico. He worked in the oil industry for Cavins Corp for over 20 years. He was actively involved in various service callings for the LDS church and endless volunteer activities.

Giovanni is preceded in death by his parents and 2 siblings.

Giovanni is survived by his wife Melina, his children Vanessa and her husband Rick Mora, Giovanni and wife Heather Castelazo, Elva and husband Miguel Romero, Myrna and husband Owen Wallace Servera, Xavier and wife Becky Castelazo and Nikis Castelazo, siblings Carmen Espindola, Javier Castelazo, Gino Castelazo, Pol Castelazo, Eva Castelazo and Marcela Castelazo, 9 grandchildren, and countless friends.

Pallbearers will be Giovanni Castelazo, Xavier Castelazo, Nikis Castelazo, Anthony Castelazo, Ricardo Mora, Owen WallaceServera and Miguel Romero.

Memorials may be given to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The family of Giovanni wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Glasscock County Sherriffs office, Paramedics, LDS community, and friends.
