Glenda Marie Swann Giesler was born on October 4, 1936, in Bradshaw, TX. She attended school and grew up in Colorado City. Her family moved to Abilene, Texas, the summer before her senior year of high school. She graduated from Abilene High School in May of 1955. Glenda married Alvin Giesler on December 24, 1955. They had two children and moved to Kermit, Texas, where they lived from 1961-1986. They then moved to Midland where they worked and retired, 1986-present.
Glenda loved children and owned a daycare from 1963-1969. She then went on to work for a Lumber Yard and an Electric Company. In 1979, Glenda opened a Gift Shop and called it “Giesler’s Gifts,” where she sold a variety of handmade items. She worked in the gift shop until 1986 prior to moving to Midland. She worked for furniture store and then Curry’s Gift Shop before going on to work for and retire with the City of Midland.
Glenda’s hobbies consisted of metal and copper tin punch, making gift baskets, floral arrangements, and decorating wreaths.
Glenda is survived by one daughter Cindy Giesler; one son Kerry Giesler and his wife Lyn-White Giesler; one granddaughter Kelby Giesler Davis and husband Garret Davis; one grandson Kade Giesler and wife Monique Giesler; and 5 great grandchildren. Glenda is also survived by three sisters and one brother, and lots of nieces and nephews.
Glenda is preceded in death by her husband Alvin Giesler; both of her parents and 2 brothers.
