Glendya Williams

Glendya Williams, 79, beloved mother, sister, and grandmother was called to her eternal resting place on August 15, 2021.

She entered this world on November 28, 1941, in Wheeler, TX, born to Lyman and Viona Green. She was in the first graduating class at Permian High School. She earned her bachelors at Texas Tech University. She married Lester Hiram Williams Jr. on August 21, 1964, at First Christian Church in Odessa, TX. She was a devoted military spouse that lived and traveled to many locations, including the Philippines and Japan. Glendya was a long-term substitute for ECISD at the Teen Parent Center and AIM High School where she taught Home Economics and the art of crocheting. She was a member of the Rainbow Girls, the Order of Eastern Star, The Downtown Lioness Club and a longtime member of Odessa’s First Christian Church (Connection Christian Church).

She is survived by Detra and Jim Swenson, Catherine and John Williams, Leslie and John Gillian, Jaci Williams, Cody Williams, Jerry Gillian, John Williams and Leticia Volpe MD, Martha Williams, and D’Ann Green as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Glendya is preceded in death by Lester H Williams Jr., Lyman and Viona Green, Wilona Dyson, Arthur Green, David Williams.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be given to Connection Christian Church Bell Tower Fund.

Memorial Service will be held at Connection Christian Church on September 4th at 2:00 PM.
