Glenn Herschel Benton of Odessa, Texas passed away peacefully on September 12th, 2023.
He was born on February 4th, 1940, to Herschel A. and Francell E. Benton. Glenn was commissioned into the United States Navy where he worked in Morse Code Communications. After leaving the military, he worked in the Permian Basin in the Oil and Gas Industry and established a career that spanned decades. He met the love of his life Carol Louise Benton, and they were married on September 15th, 1961. After a rewarding career, Glenn retired from HY-BON to spend his time doing what he loved, traveling, camping with his grandsons, being on the sea, and photography. He was a dedicated servant of the Lord and a member at St. Andrew Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Odessa, Texas.
Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Francell; brother, Ronnie H. Benton, wife Carol L. Benton and daughter Kim G. Orosco; brothers-in-law, Scott Griffin and Paul Nichols.
Glenn is survived by his younger brother, Ricky and wife Anease Benton of Midland, Texas; sisters-in-law, Connie Nichols and Shelly Griffin of Odessa, Texas and son-in-Law Robert Orosco Sr. of Odessa, Texas. His grandsons, Robert Orosco Jr. and his wife Danyelle of Odessa, Texas; Jordan Orosco and wife Amy of Midland, Texas. His great grandchildren Robert Kendall, Bladyn, Kyson, Bolton and Edie Orosco, as well as several loving nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas on Friday, September 15th, 2023, from 6:30-8:00 PM.
The funeral service will be on Saturday, September 16th, 2023, at 10:00 AM.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Odessa for their care and compassion. The family requests that any floral arrangements be in the colors of the United States flag, to commemorate Glenn’s dedicated service to his country.
